Clearstream has expanded its crypto custody offering by adding support for six additional cryptocurrencies, extending the range of digital assets available to institutional clients through its regulated custody platform.
The expansion introduces support for Ripple (XRP), Cardano (ADA), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC), Stellar (XLM), and Avalanche (AVAX). The newly added assets join Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH), which were already available through the service following its launch last year.
The custody solution operates with Crypto Finance, a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse Group, serving as the sub-custodian. Crypto Finance is regulated under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), allowing the service to meet the regulatory framework established for digital asset activities across the bloc.
Clearstream Expands Crypto Custody Service With Six New Digital Assets
Clearstream said the broader cryptocurrency selection reflects the increasing role of MiCA-compliant digital assets in institutional finance. The addition gives clients access to a wider range of cryptocurrencies while continuing to use the firm’s established custody infrastructure.
The move also aims to simplify access to digital assets for financial institutions seeking regulated custody services. By integrating more cryptocurrencies into its existing platform, Clearstream is seeking to support clients that are expanding their exposure to digital assets within traditional investment and custody frameworks.
Institutional demand for regulated crypto services has continued to evolve as firms look for custody providers operating under recognized regulatory standards. The expansion follows the introduction of Clearstream’s crypto custody service last year, which marked the company’s entry into the regulated digital asset custody market through its partnership with Crypto Finance.
With the latest additions, the platform now supports a total of eight cryptocurrencies, giving institutional participants more options when managing digital asset holdings.
Clearstream said the expanded offering is going to bridge traditional financial markets and the crypto asset ecosystem by combining digital asset custody with the operational standards and infrastructure already used by institutional investors. The company added that the broader asset coverage enhances client choice while supporting the integration of crypto assets into established custody services under a regulated environment.
