Andrew Gibson, a seasoned veteran, has announced his departure from his executive role at Tavira Financial (previously known as Tavira Securities). Andrew Gibson is going to embark on a new venture as the Co-Founder of Timberfx, a burgeoning brokerage brand where he assumes the pivotal role of Chief Executive Officer. Notably, Gibson is also the major shareholder in the freshly minted financial entity.

Timberfx is gearing up for its anticipated launch on March 1, 2024, and is currently navigating the regulatory landscape in a bid to secure a license from the Seychelles regulator. The brokerage brand is going to offer an array of trading services encompassing forex and contracts for different instruments, along with crypto CFDs and non-deliverable forwards (NDFs). The initial trading services will work on MetaTrader 5, with the possibility of incorporating additional platforms in the future.

Gibson has outlined his vision for Timberfx, emphasizing that the brand will provide innovative pricing structures to Introducing Brokers (IBs). Additionally, the platform will distinguish itself through a unique approach to “educational services and training” and the integration of “automated bespoke trading strategies.”

Services and support for Timberfx will emanate from its offices in Cyprus, with Gibson currently focused on assembling a proficient team in preparation for a full-scale operational launch scheduled for January. Despite acknowledging the substantial costs associated with launching a brokerage brand, encompassing license acquisition, legal fees, company incorporations, and website development, Gibson is resolute in his pursuit, noting that it represents an avenue to garner attention as a ‘fresh face’ in a competitive market.

Bringing four decades of financial industry experience to the table, Gibson’s illustrious career, as reflected on his LinkedIn profile, began in 1986. Prior to his tenure at Tavira Financial, where he served as the Head of Product Development for FX and CFDs, Gibson spent a significant period at Alfa Capital Markets in Cyprus. His roles included serving as the Head of Institutional FX Sales and subsequently as the Head of Institutional Sales.

Gibson’s extensive career also features pivotal positions at renowned brands such as BCS Financial Group, Fastmatch, TradAir, ABN AMRO Clearing Bank, Fortis Bank Global Clearing, TraderTools, and others. Timberfx, under Gibson’s leadership, is going to make a significant impact in the financial industry, introducing innovative approaches and a fresh perspective to the dynamic world of forex and CFD trading.
