BDSwiss has recently transitioned its operations offshore, now functioning under a Seychelles-domiciled entity, BDS Ltd. This change marks a significant shift for the BDSwiss brand, which had previously been managed by BDSwiss Holding Ltd., a Cyprus-based firm licensed by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).
Earlier this year, BDSwiss Holding Ltd. rebranded to Viverno Markets Ltd. as part of a strategic move to establish a new business-to-business (B2B) brand, Viverno. This new entity focuses on providing liquidity and technology solutions to smaller CFD brokers. However, in a recent development, CySEC suspended Viverno’s Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) license, with its website currently displaying a message indicating it is “Temporarily Unavailable.”
BDSwiss Moves Offshore: New Entity Takes Over Operations
The restructuring of BDSwiss began last summer following the departure of CEO Nicolas Shamtanis, leading the company to pivot its focus away from the European market toward clients in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Latin America (LATAM), and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions. This strategic shift has coincided with the exit of several senior executives from the Cyprus office, including Chief Risk Officer Andreas Andreou, who has launched his own proprietary trading firm, thePropTrade, along with Head of Account Opening Nita Georgiadou and Sales Head Nicole Heinrich. Additionally, Daniel Takieddine, the CEO for the MENA region, who played a crucial role in securing a UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) Category 5 license for BDSwiss, has also left the organization.
BDSwiss remains under the control of German entrepreneur Jan Malkus as it navigates this new chapter in its business strategy.
By relocating its operations offshore and focusing on the MENA, LATAM, and APAC regions, BDSwiss aims to position itself for growth in emerging markets while navigating challenges in its traditional European base. However, the departure of key executives and the suspension of its previous Cyprus license raise questions about the company’s stability and strategic direction.
