Marex Group announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Valcourt SA, a Geneva-based fixed-income market maker. Valcourt specializes in high-yield, subordinated, emerging markets, private, illiquid, and sustainable debt instruments. The acquisition is ready to expand Marex’s client base by approximately 700, including banks, independent wealth managers, and asset management firms.

The deal aligns with Marex’s strategic focus on diversifying earnings and enhancing its fixed income business. By bringing Valcourt’s expertise and established Swiss client relationships under its umbrella, Marex aims to strengthen its Capital Markets division while extending its distribution offering to the Swiss institutional community. In particular, private banks, wealth managers, and asset management companies are going to benefit from the expanded product access and services.
