Plus500 to Acquire Hedge Capital Markets Ahead of US Super-App Launch

Plus500 has conditionally agreed to acquire Hedge Capital Markets Inc., marking its entry into the SEC-regulated US securities market ahead of the planned launch of its unified multi-asset platform in the first quarter of 2027.

The acquisition will expand the London-listed trading group’s US offering beyond its existing futures and prediction markets operations, adding access to stocks, options, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and other exchange-listed securities. The move is going to create an integrated trading and investment ecosystem for US retail customers.

Founded in 2021 by Kyle Al-Rawi and Yash Khandelwal, Hedge is a registered broker-dealer with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a member of FINRA and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). Its regulatory status provides Plus500 with the foundation to enter the US securities market directly.

The transaction will have funds entirely through Plus500’s existing cash resources. The group reported cash holdings exceeding $860 million as of June 30, 2026. Completion remains subject to customary closing conditions, including the expiration of the required notice period and approval from FINRA under Rule 1017.

Plus500 is also strengthening its US presence through a new New York hub, which will operate alongside its established Chicago operations. The New York team will incorporate Hedge’s personnel, bringing additional securities expertise and regulatory capabilities to support the group’s expansion.

Also, the acquisition forms a central part of Plus500’s strategy to launch its US super-app in Q1 2027. The planned platform will combine futures, prediction markets, stocks, options and ETFs within a single interface, with new features expected to be introduced progressively.

For the group, the integrated offering is going to increase customer engagement and retention, improve monetisation and expand its reach across the US retail investment market. Plus500 also intends to extend the super-app into additional geographical markets following its initial US launch.

So, Chief Executive Officer David Zruia described the acquisition as a pivotal step in the group’s US expansion, highlighting its potential to accelerate growth and support sustainable long-term shareholder returns.

The deal positions Plus500 to compete across a broader range of US retail trading and investment products, although completion remains dependent on regulatory and other closing requirements.
